Our Story
You can say that Evelyn and Paul are high school “sweethearts.” They met while playing volleyball in high school; Paul played, but also helped coach the girl's team – which Evelyn, at the time, was trying out for. What was it about each other that drew us together? Evelyn was active in sports, play productions, and was extremely smart. Paul was… “just cute in volleyball shorts.”
Through high school they spent as much time as they could with each other.
Paul graduated and went on to USC where he lived on-campus, while Evelyn was still finishing up in high school. For these two years they saw each other on a few occasions. Since Evelyn wasn't really allowed to go out on the weekend, Paul did his best to see Evelyn by scheduling classes for a short day on Fridays – he would find a way home and see Evelyn for 15-20 minutes before she went home.
Evelyn soon graduated and went on to UCLA. While it was limited by the demands of school, they were able to see each other more often. At this point Paul's interest in becoming a pharmacist was waning while his love for cars began to grow. A year later, Paul would transfer to CSUN and move back home to Northridge.
Coincidentally, both of them would graduate with similar degrees: Evelyn in physiological sciences, and Paul in kinesiology. Paul would take a job with Nissan North America in Torrance, while Evelyn took on the challenge of pharmacy school down at UCSD.
In 2006 Nissan would move to Nashville and with Evelyn's support, Paul decided to move with the company to continue on with his career in the auto industry. Evelyn still had a couple more years in pharmacy school – in those 2 years Evelyn and Paul would fly out to visit each other whenever they could.
Paul proposed on January 14, 2008; exactly 10 years to the day that he asked Evelyn to be his girlfriend during high school.
After graduating, Evelyn made the move to Nashville, and they are living together in Franklin, TN.
